Managing Project Links

When working with Proliance documents, you can add projects links to a document using either the Projects tab or the Project section on the Main page. Both methods have the same result and reflect the same information.

  1. While viewing a document, click the Projects tab.
  2. Click Edit to enter edit mode.
  3. Click Add to display the Projects dialog.
  4. Click Add to left of each project line item that you want to add to the list of linked projects for the document.
  5. The selected projects are displayed in the bottom grid of the dialog box. Click Remove to the left of each project you want to remove from the list.

  6. Click OK.
  7. The selected project link is added to the list.

  8. Click Save.

  1. While viewing a document, click the Main page on the General tab.
  2. Expand the Project section.

  2. Click Add to left of each project line item that you want to add to the list of linked projects for the document.
  3. The selected projects are displayed in the bottom grid of the dialog box. Click Remove to the left of each project you want to remove from the list.

  4. Click OK.
  5. The selected project link is added to the list.

  6. Click Save.

Linking a document to all projects in a workspace

You can quickly link a document to all existing projects within a workspace by selecting the Link to All Projects box on the document's Project tab, or by selecting All in the Project section of the Main page.

  1. While viewing a document, click the Projects tab
  2. — or —

    Expand the Project section on the Main page of the General tab.

  3. Click Edit to enter edit mode.
  4. On the Projects tab, at the top of the list in the Settings area, click Link to All Projects.
  5. — or —

    In the Project section of the Main page, select All.

  6. Click Save.

When a document is linked to all projects, only links that have additional detail information appear on the Project tab. Projects links that haven't been added directly or lack detail information will not be listed on this tab, although their links will be active.

Tip:

  • To make the Projects tab and the Project section available, projects must first be enabled. For more information on enabling projects, see "Enabling Projects".
  • Proliance documents that have a parent/child relationship to other documents or child line items require that both the parent and children have project links in common. Ensure that the parent document has the appropriate project links before adding or modifying project links to child items.
